This is the prototype for the new Ring Wasp synth. The production model is on its way.  I will make a post on Tumblr when they are up for sale and ready to ship.
Features:
Four oscillators split into pairs and ring modulated, then mixed through a self-oscillating low pass filter that uses CMOS inverters “improperly” as linear amplifiers. There are two modes of operation, selectable with the on switch: Regular and Chaos. Chaos mode turns the Ring Wasp from a drone machine into a steerable random noise machine.
Then we have the new features… there is now an external audio input for the filter section with it’s own input volume control and a feedback switch, which takes a high pass output from the filter and feeds it back into the input of the filter for extreme resonance, feedback looping and waveshaping, depending on the way you set the other controls.
There are trimpots for external input gain and character of the chaos mode. I will set these up on each unit before shipping, but they are for experimenting with and none of the possible settings will damage the Ring Wasp in any way. Go crazy!
The unit is powered by a single 9V battery.
Regular Mode: http://soundcloud.com/martin-freem/ringwaspregular
Chaos Mode: http://soundcloud.com/martin-freem/ringwaspchaos
External Input (Casio SK-1): http://soundcloud.com/martin-freem/ringwaspsk1
Price for the production models (with robust aluminum enclosure) is $250 US + shipping. Available as a custom order.
